Any citizen of Russia or any other country aged 14 or older can become a library member: simply show your passport or ID at the reception desk. Only permanent or temporary residents of Moscow and Moscow region can check-out library materials.
Children aged 12 and 13 can become members and visit the library on their own: a parent must register them with her/his passport. Children under 12 must be accompanied by parents.
The library card allows visitors to use all library services and is valid for 3 years. The card costs 100 rubles to make. However, Moscow and Moscow region residents who have a social card can use it as a library card: in this case, the social card must be shown along with the passport at the registration desk.
New members receive an activation code, which is used in order to link their library card and account on the website. Users can log in to see the list of all borrowed materials and renew them if necessary.
If you have a library card but do not have an activation code, go to the reception desk or send an e-mail with your name, surname and the last six digits of your passport number to [email protected].
